Peak-load and rated-load devices complement the b maXX range

Nuremberg. The b maXX 4400 converter series has been expanded by the peak-load and rated-load devices of the 4600 and 4700 ranges. With this, Baumüller meets specific requirements where either peak capacity is demanded for a short period or a constant maximum performance is required during continuous operation. This means drives can be optimally set to the performance requirement of the respective application.

While some applications demand maximum performance from the drive system during the entire machine cycle, other applications only require this intermittently. The peak-load and rated-load devices from the b maXX series have therefore been developed as optimized servo drives to significantly increase the peak and rated currents compared to devices from the b maXX series with the same unit volume. Drives can then be dimensioned according to the actual performance requirement and are hence significantly more efficient during operation. The use of the peak-load devices in injection moulding applications for example, enables considerably faster clock cycles and therefore increased productivity.

Although both ranges have higher performances than the series devices, they still feature the same unit volume due to their compact design. This minimizes the space requirement in the control cabinet and saves costs. The device’s water cooling additionally ensures efficient heat dissipation from the control cabinet. The cooling is available as either a standard version in the control cabinet or alternatively as a push-through version. Optional versions with indirectly water-cooled braking resistors are also available.
